Lonoke County Sheriff Catches

Burglars in the Act

On April 9, 2015 the Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley and Chief Deputy Kevin McCoy were out doing extra patrol checking residential areas while citizens were at work. While on patrol Sheriff Staley and Chief McCoy checked a home that is up for sale. When they pulled into a driveway off of Hwy 321 they observed a red Ford truck parked near the residence. When they drove up to the truck they observed a male and a female in the truck and another male exiting the residence. All three were taken into custody. Further investigation led to the location of copper wire, copper pipe and brass light fixtures being located near the back door of the residence. The house was examined and it was found that the suspects had done extensive damage to the residence while they were stealing the copper wire and copper pipe. The three individuals were identified as 41 year old Joseph Simerley of Cabot, 35 year old Kevin Conklin of Mayflower and 35 year old Kristy Feltmon of Mayflower. All subjects were arrested and charged with Residential Burglary, Breaking and or Entering, Criminal Mischief and Theft of Property. All three are being held at the Lonoke County Detention Center. Sheriff Staley related that the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting the citizen’s property and homes while they are away at work.
